Completion of Chakdara Bridge, Takhte-Bhai fly over project will reduce hardship of adjoining areas people: Arbab
ISLAMABAD, Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said that work on Chakdara Bridge and Takhte-Bhai fly over will start next month, and their completion will remove the hardships faced by the people of Dir, Chitral and other adjoining areas.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting at NHA headquarters here Friday. Chakdara Bridge is funded by Asian Development Bank and funds for Takhte-Bhai flyover are provided by the Annual Development Program of the Government of Pakistan.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said that the 307 ft long Chakdara Bridge will cost 406 million rupees and it will be completed in two years. Bridge will be located at 88-Km near Batkhela on N-45 from where N-95 (Batkhela-Kalam) road also starts.
Tendering process for this bridge has been completed and work on the bridge will start in March and this environment friendly projects will alleviate the sufferings of the people of the area. Similarly, the 655 million rupees Takhte Bhai Fly over will also be completed in two years and construction work will also start next month.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said that the worst floods of August 2010 played havoc with roads and bridges and 10 bridges on the River Swat were completely washed away by floods but the NHA brought all possible resources into use and rehabilitated the damaged communications infrastructure in the area.
